The Bottle Aversion OT
Infant Occupational Therapy
We support you to understand your baby’s feeding behaviour, reduce the pressure you’re both feeling and protect the bond that matters most.
If you’re here, it’s likely because feeding feels hard, you’re exhausted, worried and trying to make sense of what’s going on.
Firstly, you’re not failing and your baby isn’t “being difficult”. When refusal happens, something in the feeding relationship usually needs support and that’s exactly what we help with.
Who is this support for?
This space is for parents and caregivers who feel overwhelmed, confused, or stuck with bottle feeding. If feeding feels tense, pressured, or unpredictable, this support is designed with you in mind.
Here are some of the situations families often describe:
-
Your baby cries, arches, or turns away from the bottle
-
Your baby only drinks when drowsy, asleep or distracted
-
You’re stuck in a cycle of trying different bottles, teats, timings, or tricks
-
You’re worried about intake and it’s taking over your day
-
You’re waiting for a swallow assessment and need support now
-
You want feeding to feel calmer and more connected again
-
You’re exhausted, second‑guessing yourself, or feeling like you’re “missing something”
If any of this resonates, there are different ways we can support you — from education and clarity to step- by- step therapeutic guidance — so you can choose what feels right for your family.

Who I am
Hi, I’m Beth Charles — an Occupational Therapist and mum based in the UK. As someone with lived experience of bottle aversion, I know how emotional and exhausting this journey can be and I bring that understanding into my work. With my advanced training, I can help you understand your baby’s feeding behaviour, protect your feeding relationship, and support your baby’s comfort so feeding feels calmer and more enjoyable for both of you. I support families worldwide through remote consultations.

Feeding Assessment
Support Plan
A gentle, detailed look at your baby’s feeding behaviour, cues, routines, and the pressures sitting around feeds. This helps us understand what’s driving the difficulties so we can support the feeding relationship, not just the symptoms.
Personalised, evidence‑informed support that helps you make sense of what’s happening and shows you how to reduce pressure, rebuild trust, and create calmer, more connected feeding moments.
Therapeutic Guidance
A clear, tailored plan with practical steps you can start right away. It’s designed to help you move forward confidently, protect your bond, and feel supported between sessions.
Ongoing Support & Review
A space to check in, reflect on how feeding feels, and gently adjust the plan as your baby’s needs evolve. This stage gives you continued guidance, reassurance, and a chance to explore what’s working and what might need a different approach — without pressure or expectations.
